
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player who plays as captain and striker with the San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL), the highest division of women's professional soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team along with Carli Lloyd and Megan rapinoe from 2018 to 2020. After graduating in the early years of the University of California, Berkeley in the USA, where she played with the California Golden Bears, Morgan was selected as the top pick during the 2011 WPS Draft by the Western New York Flash. She made her debut with the club and assisted the team win their league championship. Morgan aged 22 at the time was the youngest player of the national squad at the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, which the team finished second. Morgan scored the game-winning goal against Canada in the semi-final game at the 2012 London Olympics. She ended 2012 with 21 and 28 goals. assists as she joined Mia Hamm as the only American woman to score 20 goals and score 20 assists during the same year, making her the sixth and the tiniest U.S. player to score 20 goals in one season. She was subsequently awarded the U.S. Soccer Female Athlete of the Year , and was a FIFA World Player of the Year finalist. Morgan was also integral in the United States winning their titles at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups and the FIFA Women's World Cup in 2019. She was selected for both the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
