Kate Hudson, an accomplished actor known for her performance in the Hollywood movie Almost Famous. This earned her an Academy Award nomination. Born into a clan of film personalities and actors, she was destined for limelight since her childhood. Her mother Goldie Hawn is a well-known film actor, while her father Bill Hudson is a comedian. From a young age she was an avid performer and would grab every opportunity to perform on stage. Parents made sure that she had dancing classes, and she also trained at the Santa Monica Playhouse as a child. She began acting when she was offered a role in the TV drama Party of Five in the year 1996. The show was a success and she was admitted to New York University, however Kate Hudson was more interested in making a career in show business, rather than obtaining an academic degree. After a few minor roles in films, she landed the role that would turn out to be a breakthrough role in her professional career. Kate was picked to play Penny Lane in the comedy drama film Almost Famous. Though the film didn't do very well at the box office it was well-received by the critics and it made Kate an established star in the American movie industry.
